Design Consultations
If you are considering having a water feature professionally installed on your property, we are here to serve you.  We gladly offer our basic start-up pricing online for free.  We offer on-site waterscape, water feature, pond, and landscape design consultations for a nominal fee.  Our on-site design consultation fees are very reasonable and the fee is credited to your contract price should you choose to have Texas Ponds and Water Features professionally install your waterscape.  No consultation fees are charged for commercial jobs.  Your consultation fee includes an informational packet with a DVD presentation that you will receive before your consultation is scheduled, before you meet with your pond designer. It will answer many of your questions, some before you even know you have them.  It will also show you many examples of what can be done with a water feature in your landscape to give you some ideas you may not have thought of yet so that you can fully explore your options when the designer meets with you.

An on-site design consultation is a great investment of your time and money.  A professional waterscape designer from our company will walk you through the entire design process at the location where you are planning to have your water feature created.  We will talk with you to find out what your ideas and goals are for your paradise and then do everything we can to help you achieve those goals.  We will then offer ideas, information, and options about how your vision can be achieved.  We will talk to you realistically about future maintenance requirements, different options for your landscape or water feature, such as a negative edge instead of a skimmer, and listen to your input.
Simple decisions in the planning stages of your pondscape can save substantial money over the long term.  For example, choosing the right pump or combination of pumps for your project can save you a little on each monthly electrical bill.  That could add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars in savings over the life of the pump.  Choosing the right filter system for your project can easily be the difference between the pond meeting your water quality expectations and not.  And using underwater LED lighting reduces power consumption by over 90%.
When you schedule a professional on-site design consultation with our company, we send out an actual pond and landscape construction designer to your property, not a salesman.  There is a big difference. A salesman that visits your property free of charge will have the tendency to be pushy and try to sell you what he or she thinks they can sell you without making suggestions that may make or break your overall enjoyment of the feature. It would be difficult for a salesman to have as much knowledge and experience as we provide at each of our consultations.  The person who visits with you will be in charge of your project's installation from beginning to end.
Each year, approximately 30% of our construction business is rebuilding and or retro-fitting ponds that were improperly built by landscape contractors.  When we ask the homeowner if they originally paid for a design consultation when meeting with the origianl contractor they all say, 'no'. All lot can be revealed in our interview process about what your expectations are and about who we are. A small design consultation fee could literally save you thousands of dollars. Visit our Bad Ponds page and see some of the free consultation jobs we have been called upon to rebuild.  They range from funny to tragically hilarious.
A design consultation can be the difference between having an expensive embarrassing monstrosity installed in your yard and having a beautiful natural looking waterscape built for you.  Most of our design consultations in the Austin area are $125 and that amount is deductible from the price of any work you choose to have us do for you.  Most consultations last up to an hour, but we will stay as long as needed to answer all your questions and explore all the possibilities that go into creating your dream land and waterscape.
E-mail us today to schedule your design consultation with a Certified Master Water Garden Designer with over 100 ponds under their belt.  Before your consultation is scheduled, an informational packet will be sent out to you.  It will contain information on the specific kind of land or waterscaping in which you're interested as well as facts about our company, our philosophy, and the kind of work we do.  You'll also receive a DVD showing many different examples of natural looking water features and explaining how the balanced freshwater ecosystem helps keeps maintenance to a minimum and frees you from such crutches as pond chemicals and water test kits.
